Q: Does this style mount (Monolok) allow me to rotate my monitor from landscape to portrait without unlocking something?
A: Yes it does. Once the monitor is installed you will be able to grasp the monitor like a steering wheel and easily turn it.

Q: I am frustrated trying to make the front part of the mount snap into the wall part when it is on the wall. Parts were shipped together and they came apart easily enough so I know they must work - what am I doing wrong?
A: It is difficult to align the components when you can’t see them properly from the top. Simply use a step ladder or stool so you can watch what you are doing from above and visually align the parts as you slide them together.

Q: Could I mount to a non-vertical surface or slanted surface?
A: Yes in many cases. The design of the Monolok allows it to be used for a wide variety of applications where a flat object needs to be securely attached to a flat surface. As long as the weight of the removable object rests on the four lock pins and is not resting the weight of the object on the latch, the Monolok will perform the job. Contact Ergomart for further clarification at 888 420 3200.

Q: Will the Monolok attach to the underside of my desk so that I can attach a small computer (thin client) with a four inch by four inch square hole set?
A: Yes you can use the Monolok to attach a VESA compliant device under a desk. Check your “four inch" hole pattern very carefully. That measurement should be exactly 100mm x 100mm which is actually about 3.937" or 3 and 15/16" and it should use a metric screw called an M4.

Q: I want to attach a group of art works that each weight less than 20 lbs and then rearrange them on an ongoing basis. My pieces have rigid backs that I can screw wood screws into. I also want these pieces to be offset by about an inch from the wall. So the Monolok seems ideal for my goals. Do you see any problems?
A: It should work fine. The quick release mechanism can be used to securely affix wall hung objects with rigid backed surfaces capable of interfacing with #8 or #10 wood or machine screws. Hang-able objects may include certain artwork, decorative panels, certain wall hung audio speakers, sound absorbing panels and other moderate sized objects that must be removed from a wall occasionally with ease.

Q: Do you provide hardware to attach to a wall cinder block wall?
A: We do not provide hardware since there are so many possible applications where this device can be used and such a wide variety of available fasteners. We recommend using high quality fasteners available at any hardware store.

Q: How difficult is it to change the resistance to rotation?
A: Easy. Simply detach the front bracket from the back bracket and adjust using the included ½" wrench.

Q: I have four places I want to be able to move my touch screen PC and your shopping cart options stop at just two back plates.
A: Please call us at 888 420 3200 and we will take your custom order over the phone. We are happy to sell you any number of back brackets that your installation requires.

Q: How can this thing be "quick release" and "theft deterrent" at the same time? This is an oxymoron to my ears.
A: The anti-theft screw head comes with a special bit. The bit and screw head are not commonly found in any hardware store. It does take about 10 seconds to unscrew the security screw if you have the right driver bit and then just another 2 or 3 seconds to detach the monitor. So in that sense it is "quick release" and "secure". If a thief does not have the correct security driver bit, he will be slowed down.

Q: I have my own proprietary security screw and bit that uses a #8-32 with machine threading. Can I custom order a screw for this specific threading?
A: You may order our standard configuration. We use a self-tapping #8-32 that is prefitted into the unit. Simply remove with a Philips screwdriver and replace with your #8-32 machine screw.
MONOLOK VESA 100 mm WITH LANYARD - ISOMETRIC Specification drawing: Monolok wall mount with 100 mm VESA adapter Isometric view of the complete Monolok wall mount assembly with a 100 mm VESA adaptor plate mounted on the front bracket. The lanyard attached to the loop on the bottom right of the receiver (back) bracket facilitates the quick release of the monitor, tablet, or thin client CPU from the receiver.
MONOLOK - NO VESA - FRONT VIEW Specification drawing: Monolok wall mount with no VESA plate attached front view This front view of Monolok wall mount assembly shows the central 1.90" square hole pattern, which is designed for an Ergomart tilter head (not shown) or a standard Ergomart VESA adaptor. The mount measures 2.93" in width and .80" of space exists above and below the hole pattern. The square-shaped central hole is for an Ergomart rotating VESA plate (examples shown in later images). The lanyard attached to the Monolok receiver bracket is omitted in this and all subsequent images.
MONOLOK - NO VESA - BACK VIEW Specification drawing: Monolok monitor wall mount rear view The back plate features three hole patterns. The four holes 1.90" apart allow mounting to a flat surface (e.g. wall, table) or an Ergomart tilter head (articulating mounting device). A single, square-shaped central hole accepts an Ergomart VESA adaptor or can used to attach this quick release bracket to a keyboard/monitor combo arm. Finally, the two holes 2.58" apart accommodate a maximum screw size of ¼” for mounting to a flat surface.
MONOLOK - NO VESA - TOP VIEW Specification drawing: Monolok monitor wall mount top view In this top view of the Monolok assembly (with no VESA plate attached), the mounting surface is to the right of the image. The spring mechanism implementing the quick release feature is visible from this angle. Excluding this quick release tab, the Monolok wall bracket takes up 2.93” in width against the mounting surface and extends only 0.65” from it.
MONOLOK - NO VESA - SIDE VIEW Specification drawing: Monolok monitor wall mount side view This side view of the Monolok assembly shows the mounting surface to the right of the image. The Monolok wall bracket is 3.50” high and extends only 0.65” from the wall without accounting for the VESA bracket (not shown).
MONOLOK - 75 mm VESA - FRONT VIEW Specification drawing: Monolok monitor wall mount with 75 mm VESA plate attached front view The Monolok wall mount assembly is shown with the 75 mm VESA plate (drawn in gray) attached to the front bracket. Depending on how it is assembled, the VESA plate can be fixed in the desired orientation (portrait or landscape) or rotate from one position to the other. In the latter case, the resistance to rotation is adjustable.
